Manish Lamichane, DDS, MMSc
Dr. Manish Lamichane, known to most of his patients as Dr. Manny, has a love for orthodontics stemming from his dual appreciation of arts and science – the art of envisioning a beautiful smile and the biology and physics of tooth movement.
He grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with parents who pleaded with him to study hard while he spent every waking hour playing, watching and reading about sports. Alas, his genetics were such that a career in athletics was not possible and he turned his focus to the classroom. He also enjoyed working starting with paper routes and moving on to washing dishes, assembly lines, factories, making eyeglasses and testing water meters. In college, he started a small (and barely successful) business selling cleaning and paper products before finally graduating with a degree in Actuarial Science. Dr. Lamichane's desire to lead a team and help people directly led him towards Dentistry, where he graduated near the top of his class at the University of Toronto. He then completed a hospital residency in Boston and stayed on at Massachusetts General Hospital teaching in the residency program and working in private practice in the suburbs of Boston. After 5 years of experience, Dr. Lamichane decided to leave general practice to specialize in orthodontics and completed the 3-year graduate orthodontic program at Harvard University.
There he met his wife Sara, a Manheim Township grad and also a dentist, and together with their newborn daughter Juliet, they moved to Lancaster to establish their practices. They have since added another daughter Maya and a son Pierce and live happily in Township with the kids attending the Susquehanna Waldorf School.
As for orthodontics and LOA, Dr. Lamichane has helped navigate changes in personnel, technology, and facilities over the past decade but is thankful that the core values and esprit de corps have remained true to the founding values of LOA – treat each other and every patient with respect and kindness.

Timothy R. Snyder, DMD
Dr. Tim Snyder was born and raised in South Central Pennsylvania. His uncle introduced him to the working world at his father's electrical contracting business. During those long, hot, high school summers digging ditches, running wires and crawling through attics, he was undergoing his own orthodontic treatment with a mouth full of braces. Young Timmy's orthodontist took him under his wing and opened his eyes to the possibility of a very rewarding career (with air conditioning), where he could instill the same amazing sense of self-confidence in others that he experienced after being given the gift of a new smile.
Dr. Snyder was active in athletics at Millersville University and graduated with a B.S. in biology. From there he attended dental school at Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry. Dr. Snyder graduated at the top of his dental class and was named to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He then matched into a 3-year orthodontic residency program at University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine's Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Out of residency, Dr. Snyder moved back to central Pennsylvania to be close to his family and friends and teamed up with Dr. Lamichane to begin his private practice career. After many years of practicing together, he has made it his priority at LOA to provide each patient with the highest standard of care by ensuring exceptional service, a family fun and caring atmosphere, and the most current evidence-based orthodontic methods and techniques. Dr. Snyder takes pride in respecting the needs of each individual and is committed to creating beautiful smiles.
During the summer months, you can find Dr. Tim on the Susquehanna ripping it up on his wakeboard with his dad still driving the boat. All year round, he adds to his unnecessarily vast vinyl record collection, mixes sick beats in his own home studio and rocks out on the drums.
